About Tsolo
Founded in 2018 by a team of engineers and developers who met while working at the South African Radio Astronomy Observatory (SARAO) on the MeerKAT project, Tsolo’s goal was to build the first cloud computing and data storage manufacturing company in South Africa.
By bringing together world-class skills in hardware and software design, we’ve built a portfolio of cutting-edge computing products with an unprecedented level of local content.
In 2022, we were awarded funding by the Technology Innovation Agency and the National Research Foundation to build our peta-scale hot and cold storage systems respectively: Tsolo RED and Tsolo BLUE.

Our clients include commercial entities and government institutions including the South African Radio Astronomy Observatory (SARAO) and the South African National Space Agency (SANSA).
